Sadly, Brian Roberts, the CFO for Warner Music resigned. As said that he filed the document on Tuesday with Securities and Exchange Commission. If you recall Roberts joined Warner back in 2007, after his stint at as Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration of North and South America. of BMG Music Publishing. Also Roberts was the SVP and CFO at Warner/Chappell and he then took the position of CFO at Warner Music when Steven Macri decided to leave Warner.
On the documents filed, Roberts wasn’t to specific on his reasons to leave Warner, except to say “taking on new opportunities”. Roberts will stay at his position until the fiscal year is over and that’s in September 30th.
Stephen Cooper, Warner Music’s CEO had this to say:
“Over the past few months, Brian Roberts has expressed to me his desire for a fresh challenge, I will be very sorry to see Brian go.”
“Even though nothing will change for some time, and I will have another opportunity to thank Brian for all he’s done, I would like to acknowledge his on-going contributions to WMG, As an influential member of our senior management team, the range of his accomplishments far exceeds what the traditional title of CFO would suggest. During a period of rapid transformation, he’s proven himself to be an adept strategist, leader and operator, all the while ensuring we maintain the discipline to nurture our growth.”
Wish the best to Brian Roberts and Warner Music. Thanks for the information Billboard.
