Steven Hernandez AKA Fresco Bangaz is a young producer based out of Southern California. Having attended audio engineering school in 2009, he is highly skilled in all aspects of making a record–live recording techniques, mixing, mastering, and of course, producing. His library of songs clearly displays his versatility-whether his latest track be Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Reggaeton, House, Dance, Techno, Dubsteb, he has an incredible ability to get a sonically superior sounding record.
I have kept in close contact with Fresco Bangaz over the past year and it seems to me that 2014 is shaping up to be his year of reckoning. While his current roster of artists he has worked with is already impressive, I am seeing him associate with a much higher caliber of musicians as he continues to network with others within the industry. What initially attracted me to Fresco’s music was the fact that he has a real ear for melody, making him more than just a “beat maker.” Obviously, much of his best material is kept private as he works on placing them with artists, but the tracks featured on his SoundCloud display his obvious potential of being a serious hitmaker. Some of my favorites are the pop/rock instrumental ballad, “Feel Alive,” the throwback Cee-Lo soul sounding record, “Don’t You Wanna (Fly),” the female pop anthem “Hide and Seek,” and the epic hip-hop instrumental with rock drums, “C.R.O.S.S.”
