Introducing The Kin to the A&R Report. One night a little over a year ago, three young men burst into New York City’s Lower East Side mainstay, Katz’s Delicatessen, and held up the joint. Sort of. Isaac and Thorald, musicians who, along with drummer Shakerleg, make up New York City band The Kin, were looking to rob ears, not wallets. The two singers, Isaac and Thorald, are originally from Australia but they currently resides in NYC. With their original pop/rock sound, The Kin aims for the stars with their recent signing with the major label Interscope.
The forthcoming self-titled album showcases not only Isaac and Thorald’s dual lead vocals and harmonies, but also the raw power of Shakerleg’s stick-free, bare-knuckle, NYC subway-born drumming style. The trio is also touring as the first act on the last leg of PInk’s tour this fall for 20 concerts.
Watch your back for The Kin as they continue to tour and might as well pop out of a bar near you with their “musical robberies”. You can download their new EP “Get On It” on iTunes.
