Juno Nominated producer, Yogidaproducer releases his second Beat Tape project for the year, this time for his birthday, appropriately titled 88.
88 is Yogi’s own special way of celebrating life on his birthday by giving us the gift of music. Despite it being a last minute decision to release the project, 88 is an incredibly cohesive collection of music. Similar to his previous Beat Tape back in June, PETRONILLA, the beat tape is a reflection of the people and places that have influenced Yogi over the years, along with where he is now artistically. This is reflected in the sounds and samples selected for this project.
Yogi has been busy cementing himself in the Toronto music scene as a go-to guy for stand out records and lush productions. He recently executive produced his first project,Lost & Found, with long time colleagues Kayo & Quake Matthews. He was an instrumental part of The Ivy League, the latest offering from 1/3 of the Juno Award Winning Naturally Born Strangers, Tona. He recently produced a record for 11:11‘s latest self titled project. In addition to all this, Yogi has been in the studio nonstop working with some of Toronto’s next generation of elite – Savannah Re, Sean Leon, Danial Caesar.
With this being his second beat tape in 2016, it is uncertain as to whether this will be become a series of some sort. Regardless, we can continue to expect quality output from this rising star.
