Cruising right below the radar, PLAZA is on his way to the surface. After having released his debut EP entitled One at the end of summer ’16, PLAZA is ready for more.
He’s got the late night vibes for when you want to cruise around the city. A mix of both drunken and high emotions, PLAZA’s music takes you on a drive through the hills and plains of his experiences.
Deriving from Toronto, his sound and appearance are reflective of this new wave and aesthetic of Toronto artists. His Instagram style leaves both viewers and listeners curious as to who he is and what he represents. His page displays tinges of purple and blends the beauty of mystery and simplicity with hints of bright lights, while displaying the allure of the darkness of the city.
You can hear and feel the haziness through the softness in his voice in combination with the moody production. This mix of darkness and emotions within his music brings on a sonic illusion for listeners, seducing them to his level of secrecy and expression.
This shadowy Toronto singer recently dropped a new track, “OVER”, on his Soundcloud. Its opening and continuous line “Bury that shit” already sets the tone for how the rest of the track is going to go. In this track, PLAZA sings the tale of an ex (or someone from the past) that just does not know how to let go.
It’s not me who’s gonna hurt when it’s over
Baby I can taste your pain, and I’m to blame
In “PERSONAL”, PLAZA sings of this lust he has with a woman but does not want to take it further or make it personal.
There’s no love anyway in this house
It’s all a haze and I can’t get much higher
With two new tracks since his debut EP, we can already feel and anticipate the vibes that PLAZA will be taking us to throughout the new year.
