Introducing Angelika Vee to the A&R Report. After several well received recent EDM features (see her Lana Del Rey-esque turn on Bisbetic’s “Feeling,” released last month on Spinnin’ Records, or her brand new single with Beatport chart toppers Stadium X, “Wonderland,” which was chosen by Insomniac to be in the official trailer for their 2014 ‘Beyond Wonderland’ festival) , Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Angelika Vee is stepping out on her own in September via a new single, “Tie You Up.” The R&B infused song features production from Zurich’s Chris Reece and has been burning up Soundcloud since it dropped earlier this month, gaining 40K plans in its first week. Vee is no stranger to radio play in Europe, with plenty of spins on the biggest dance radio stations in Europe (NRJ France, Fun Radio, Maxima FM and many more), but she remains under the radar in America as as solo artist. The song also make a huge impact on the US radio station Kiss FM Atlanta this week.
Angelika is a classically trained pianist with a degree from the National University of Music in Romania signed to Warner/Chappell music. The same songwriting prowess Vee uses in writing for other pop and R&B singers is now employed on “Tie You Up” for herself. The songwriter uses her deft ear for melody in the song’s arrangement, which she also plays on piano. Vee’s lyrics in “Tie You Up” are already resonating with female fans, with a slightly risque chorus (“May I Tie You Up And Hurt You A Little”). The song simmers with sensuality and a nod to Angelika’s singing inspirations such as Beyonce and Rihanna. “Tie You Up” is the opening salvo off of Vee’s debut EP, set for release later this year.
