With a nonchalant delivery and f*ck it attitude we’re introduced to 6LACK. His music tells stories with personal punchlines, and his lyrics are easily relatable as they draw you into his life and intersect with yours. On the track “Prblms” we become acquainted with 6LACK’s relationship drama while making you reminisce about your own experiences with love and lack there of. He continues spilling his feelings when he remixes Future’s “Perky’s Calling” and gives us “Ex Calling”, a song you can relate to if your ex is still checking for you after you’ve moved on. This track stands out when we get a glimpse of the ways 6LACK can switch up his flow and his ability to deliver emotions without being overly emotional.
My next gon wonder why a n*gga so cold/ Cuz I found out that everything that glitters ain’t gold…
If you need a change of pace altogether “Loyal” is 6LACK’s most vulnerable track, and my personal favorite. The smooth, melodic intro serves vibes reminiscent of Drake’s Take Care album, then the beat drops and gives us a medley of poetry in motion to the simple production that develops throughout the song. It’s also obvious 6LACK moves past being a rapper on this track as he sings along to the melodies. If you’re into post-break up anthems made popular by artist like Drake and Bryson Tiller then 6Lack is definitely an artist you should keep your eye on.
